Central Library and Resource Center

The Govt. Degree College (A), Tuni Library is designed to provide a place for students to collect and preserve knowledge, and to enrich and further develop the subject areas in which GDC students are taking their formal education. Library is regarded as heart and soul of an educational institutional. Government Degree College (A) has a modern Library to cater to the diverse needs of students.

Our vision for the Central Library is to provide excellent resources to encourage creativity, intellectual curiosity, and to facilitate lifelong learning and research within our students.

Mission:

The mission of the Library is to empower and inspire students to take an active role in their learning and provide learning resources.

Stock Section

It is the biggest section of the library in terms of the number of books and diversity of collection. the stock section hosts text books that are issued to the students. The books are arranged neatly subject wise and in numbered shelves for easy accessibility.

Reference Section

The section comprises of books that can be used for references purposes only. The section is adequately equipped with updated collection to answer the reference queries of the students and provide them enough extended information. Encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, etc. are available here.

Reprographic Section

This section provides reprography facilities to students at nominal charges. Students can have Photostat / print copies of reading material, previous years question papers etc.

Periodical Section

This Section contains both Newspapers, Magazines and Journals are displayed and kept available for the reference of students and faculty members.

Reading Room

The library has a well-lit spacious reading room where students can read as well as books, newspapers, journals, magazines etc. This section makes regularly available in library.

OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue)

The one system provides access and location of books to students within seconds. The patrons can search the collection of the library through title, author, subject etc.

E-resources

The library hosts a rich e-resources collection procured from NPTEL and other reputed consortia’s for distribution among patrons. The library subscribes to N-LIST for patrons.
